Obituary

LODI - Gary “Jake” Pomeranke, age 74, of Lodi, peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital.

He was born on March 3, 1948, in Madison, Wis., the son of Edward and Rozella (Thompson) Pomeranke.

Jake graduated from Lodi High School in 1966. He proudly served our Country in the US Army from 1969 through 1970.

Jake was employed as a Respiratory Therapist for local hospitals.

He has a variety of interests and especially enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, sharing his wisdom, watching football, and giving a hard time to those he loved.

Gary is survived by his children, Emily Sue Pomeranke and Ethan Scott (Lece Castro) Pomeranke; three grandchildren, Ciera Castro, Zar'iah Castro-Pomeranke, Lei'lani Castro-Pomeranke; and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Darrell and Donnie and sister, Marlene Schmidt.

In honor of Gary's wishes, there will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Adoptions of Wisconsin, Inc.

To Emily and Ethan. Oh how I will miss your dad! He was a very dear friend of mine at Divine/Good Sam. He was so kind and patient with my mom while she was living there, even when she was having a bad day. Gary was the kind of friend that you could always talk to and even “cry on his shoulder” and he’d have such wonderful advice to share. He talked of his two beautiful children often and was forever proud of you both. And loved his grand babies! It will never be the same without your dad. He was loved by so many of us.
