PORTAGE - Janet Elizabeth Nehls, age 96, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Hamilton Park Place. She was born on December 4, 1924, in Dekorra Township, the daughter of Gordon and Myrtle (Bennett) Stewart. She married Robert Nehls.
Janet is survived by three sons, Stewart (Annette) Nehls, James (Linda) Nehls, and Robert (Lynette) Nehls Jr.; eight grandchildren, Andrea (Danny Muth) Thompson, Adonnas (Dale) Johnson, Amy Jo (Joe) Stolpa, Steven (Melissa) Nehls, Karly (Taylor) Frampton, Ben (Bobbi Looker) Nehls, Jenny (Doug) Detrick, and Heather (Ken) Alden; and ten great-grandchildren, Jacob Thompson, Tucker Johnson, Jescey Thompson, Samantha Stolpa, Piper Johnson, Ethan Stolpa, Tommy Frampton, Jack Frampton, Rowan Detrick, and Jane Detrick. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and daughter, Beth Nehls.
