Margaret J. Kuehni

MADISON - Margaret Janette Kuehni, age 100, peacefully passed away with her son, daughter, and son-in-law by her side on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital.

She was born on December 27, 1923, in Lodi, WI, the daughter of the late Sidney and Pearl (Burlingame) Brereton.

Margaret was a 1941 graduate of Lodi High School.  On May 22, 1943, she married Arthur Kuehni. He preceded her in death in 2000.

Margaret's primary focus was her family, and she loved providing them with her cooking, baking, sewing, and embroidery talents.  She also loved flowers, gardening, and relaxing by watching television.

Survivors include her son, David; her daughter, Shirley (Ron) Kocha; her grandchildren, Adam, Joshua, Brian, Heather, and Paul; her great-grandchildren, Milo, Alder, Ari, Keith, and Abigail; her brother, Donald Brereton; her sister-in-law, "Toddy" Brereton; and other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her husband, Arthur, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold Brereton, David (Betty) Brereton, and Kayleen Brereton.

Funeral Service will be held at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 734 Holy Cross Way, Madison, at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 23, 2024, with Rev. Piet Van Kampen presiding.  Burial will be held at Garden Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from noon until the time of service.
