What a wonderful and extensive piece of work he did for our Mielke family tree of which he is a branch. His "Oma" Mielke was a sister to Pastor Louis Bernard Mielke - who fathered Pastor Louis Ervin Mielke - then Louis Irvin Mielke and now me as Louis Friedrich Mielke (formerly "Fritz"). Wry sense of humor and such compassion in his heart. Faith -Life in his walk.

My sincere sympathy on the passing of Norbie. We were friends since around the early 1960's. He and I both worked for Northway Wholesale in Green Bay, Wisconsin. As I remember Norbie was friends with Owen Monfils and Calvin Buehrer, both of Green Bay. After the company closed up, we kept in touch every year at Christmas. A couple of times when flying through Milwaukee, I met Norbie at the airport for coffee. I considered him a dear friend and will miss corresponding with him. He always updated me with his year's activities. My sincere sympathy to the entire family.

We extend our sympathy to the family and are sorry that we can not attend the funeral. We admired all the work Norbert did to get our church records translated to the English language. His written history of our church will always be greatly appreciated. We also enjoyed his passion for genealogy. We know that his soul is with the Lord. We will make a donation to Zion Lutheran in his memory. Phil & Betty Hutchinson
