Dear Jarl, Chris and I are so sorry for your loss. Ardell's sudden passing was so unexpected, but she truly went peacefully while reading a favorite mystery novel. We will continue to be there for you during this difficult time. It was so great to work side by side with her at Lodi Middle School and in your gardens at home. Ardell and Jarl were life long friends and she will be so terribly missed. She was a kind and generous person. I only worked with Ardell a few years at Lodi Middle School, but I enjoyed the times we were together. Ardell could do everything, she was a master quilter, a master teacher and a wonderful friend.

Mrs. and Mr. Christianson (I'm 55, and I still refer to them as such!) were two of the most influential teachers in my young life. Mrs. Christianson made me feel safe and valued at a time when I didn't feel that way a lot. She allowed me to feel smart and called me out when I needed it. I truly adored her. Mr. Christianson, I am who I am today because of you and your wife. My deepest affection and sympathy is with you at this time. Gig Chingo
