Obituary

LODI-Jack B. Gordon, age 83, of Harmony Grove, passed away on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017.  He was born Feb. 23, 1934, in Mineral Point, the son of Bennett and Byrdice (Evans) Gordon.  He married Karen Markart on Nov. 7, 1953.  Jack’s passions were ATV’n, shooting his spud gun, go-cart racing and flying.  Anything that had an engine and went fast, Jack rode it or flew it.  He and Karen loved animals and were always generous supporters of animal rescue and shelter causes.  Jack’s sense of humor and whimsy were his most endearing qualities.  He enjoyed life and he made sure his family did as well. Jack is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Brenda (Greg) Higgins, Brad (Jean) Gordon and Becky (Leo) Stronach; grandson, Jason (Molly) Gordon; great-grandsons, Scott, Luke and Jack; and brother-in-law and best buddy, Brent “Butch” Markart.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON LODI FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 157 S. Main Street, Lodi, at 2 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017. Burial will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday.  Memorials may be directed in Jack’s name to the Columbia County Humane Society or an animal shelter of your choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
