I had the humbling opportunity to be the one to call and invite Mr. Green on his May 17, 2014 Badger Honor Flight. What a sweet, outgoing and happy guy! I remember his excitement the morning of the flight when I asked him for a picture of the two of us. Since that day, we have talked numerous times. Whenever he found a Veteran that needed information about Badger Honor Flight, he would call me and ask me to get in touch with the Veteran. He wanted all Veterans to experience what he did on his flight day. Thank you Mr. Green for your service to our country. I will miss out phone calls about Badger Honor Flight. To the entire Green Family, I send all my love, thoughts and prayers to your family. I will always remember Mr. Green and keep my memories of him close in my heart.

To Ruth Ann, Mark, Kelly and John:
I feel so fortunate to have known all of you from when our families first met in the early 1960's. We did so much together. From sandbars to snowmobiling, Brewer games to Brat 'n Beer festivals, we spent some of the best times together!
I would like to express a very special "Thank You" to you and Verne for being such special friends to my parents and our family. The memories are countless and they will last forever in our souls.
May God Bless,
Cory Gorman

Vern was an incredible man with one of the most beautiful families I've ever encountered. His genuine spirit and quick wit were immediately obvious, and the man was a pool shark!!! I still try to use some of the pointers he told me! Vern, you will be missed but your memory will continue to live on! Rest in peace and love!!!

I met Vern (Diz) back in 1957 when he was dating classmate, Ruth Ann (Mallo). We became good friends and he enjoyed visiting on our dairy farm south of Shell Lake, WI. I was honored to have been asked to be an attendant in their wedding at the Shell Lake Methodist Church. He was always full of fun and was a good story teller. Thank God I got to visit a short time with Diz last August at our 60th High School Class reunion. Thank God for wonderful memories.
