Obituary
LODI/MADISON - Melody A. (Wilson) Cota, was born to James Bruce Wilson and Delores Jean (Smith) Wilson on November 13, 1954, and passed away peacefully on March 26, 2022, at the age of 67 at Crossroads Care Center in Sun Prairie.
Melody was a survivor of a brain aneurism in 2005 and lived the rest of her years enjoying her many hobbies. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing and was a talented artist. Although she was challenged with short term memory, she could recall many of life’s long-term memories. She was quick with crossword and other word puzzles, had a great sense of humor, a jovial laugh and personality.
Melody was a 1972 graduate of Lodi High School and resided most of her adult life in Madison.
Melody was preceded in death by her parents, nephews, Jeremy Wilson and Elliot McKenna, and great nephew, Andrew McKenna. She is survived by her sons, Cory Cota and Jonas Meyer (Erin); her granddaughters, Raya and Alyla; stepdaughter, Dasha Shy (Chris); grandsons, Rowan and River; siblings, Kay McKenna (Jimi), Monica Fandrich (Richard); Randy Wilson (Kristy), Dixie Burbank (Jack), and Travis Wilson (Kim), and many nieces and nephews.
Services will include a private family visitation followed with a cremation, celebration of life and burial at Garden Bluff Cemetery.
