My sincere condolences to loved ones and all who loved and respected Dr. Knop. Connie's legacy is immense. As a Japanese-ESL teacher "Knopette", Dr. Knop's teachings are a strand of the DNA that guided my professional practice and career. Connie was a teacher of teachers whose expectations for excellence were grounded in a deep respect for the critical role of language and culture in our global society. Each teacher who learned from her impacted so many students over the course of their careers. Through them, her legacy lives on. May she rest in peace and with pride and knowledge of her worth among us. - Pam Delfosse, Madison

Connie was my professor and mentor at UW-Madison 1981-83. She was always "bigger than life" to me and I worshipped her as a "Knopette." I was able to stay in touch with her for 40 years and last year I sent her a long and thankful message about how she influenced my life and career. I was thrilled that she sent me a heartfelt response. She will sorely be missed by so many. Vous nous manquerez. A bientot!
