Albert Carl Zander

Albert C. Zander, age 87, of Cross Plains, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022. He was born on Nov. 16, 1934, in Cross Plains, Wis., the son of Joseph Zander and Margaret (Laufenberg) Zander. He married Carrie Ann Frederick on May 30, 1959, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Waunakee, Wis. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Albert served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1956-1958. He spent his entire life dairy farming until 1994. After he retired, he loved traveling and camping. In his free time, he enjoyed building instruments from wood.

Albert is survived by his wife, Carrie Ann; children, Joseph (Vic) Zander, Donald (Sue) Zander, Joan (Kurt) Millard, Gregory (Eileen) Zander, Ann Zander and Stephen (Kathy) Zander; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald (Carol) Zander; and sister, Rita Heinz. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Vincent (Helen) Zander, Mary Ann (Robert) Menzel, Charlotte (William) Bollig, Harland (Dawna) Zander and LeRoy (Pam) Zander.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at 11 a.m. on Thursday June 23, 2022. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday.

Family would like to express a special thank you to the Agrace HospiceCare staff for all their help in taking care of Dad. They were amazing.
