Robert J. Schulenberg

CROSS PLAINS - Robert J. Schulenberg, age 89, of Cross Plains, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021, at Ingleside Communities. He was born on Feb. 24, 1932, in Madison, the son of Otto and Agnus (Virnig) Schulenberg. Robert was married to Marie A. Kessenich on Aug. 13, 1955, in Ashton. Robert worked for 32 years in cement finishing and was a union member of the Cement Masons’ Union. He loved gardening and crushing cans. Robert is survived by four children, Linda (Scott) Hiekel of Arena, Laura (Mark) Loomis of Spring Green, Robert Schulenberg of Cross Plains and Tom Schulenberg of Mount Horeb; six grandchildren, Kristine (Santi), Karen (Tyler), Kimberly, Amy (Tom), Elyssa and Adam; five great-grandchildren, Maddie, Bronson, Dawson, Dalton and Nico; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Schulenberg; parents; son, John; daughters, DeLynn and Lisa; and grandchildren, Raymond, Timothy, Joshua and Jamie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, with Father Scott Jablonski presiding. Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family of Robert to be designated at a later date.
