CROSS PLAINS- Regina Mary Ripp, age 93, died on Saturday, June 2, 2018. She was born on May 16, 1925, in Berry Township, the daughter of John and Mary (Kelter) Michels. When she was six months old, they moved down the road to a farm on the edge of Indian Lake, which is now a part of the Dane County Park System. On May 29, 1947, she married Vincent J. After 20 years, she retired, and worked at Subway. For 25 years as a 4H leader, she taught countless people to knit, sew and crochet. She continued to teach others to knit, even while she lived in assisted living at Waunakee Manor. Regina was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Cross Plains and was on their Council of Christian Women. She was also a member of the Cross Plains Region Auxiliary, participating in many parades and delivered fruit baskets until she moved to Waunakee Manor. She was an active member of RSVP for 20 years. Regina is survived by her daughters, Judy (Mike) Imhoff and Sharon (Tom) Hildebrandt; sons, Steve (Carol) Ripp and Dale (Joan) Ripp; grandsons, Peter (friend Barbara DuCharme) Ripp and Christopher Ripp; two great-granddaughters, Emily and Maddie; and family friend, Ruth (Phil) Filz. She is further survived by her sister, Viola Helt; brother, Norbert (Rosalie) Michels; and sister-in-law, Frances Michels-Beuthin. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vincent; son, Ron; brother, Joseph; and sister, Laura Felsheim. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St. Cross Plains, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m., until the time of the Mass on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Francis Xavier Endowment Fund or Rosemary Garfoot Public Library, 2107 Julius St. Cross Plains, WI 53528.
