Obituary

SAUK CITY - Hubert A. Lins, age 100 years and 116 days, passed on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022, surrounded by family at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison, due to complications of congestive heart failure. Hubert was born on June 1, 1922, in rural Spring Green, Town of Bear Creek, Wis., son of Henry and Mary (Reik) Lins. Hubert was a very religious, devoted Catholic. Attending Mass and devotions and praying the rosary were important aspects of his life. He enjoyed traveling, being a Florida and Arizona snowbird and, more recently, rides of remembrance to the country to see how the crops were doing. He was an avid euchre player and enjoyed playing cards and games with his daughters and their families.

Survivors include his five daughters, Sharon (John) Esser, Linda Lins, Janice (Mike) Klar, Mary Sue Klun and Lisa (Richard) Denu; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Lucy Rooney, Arlene (Steven) Meise and David (Carol) Lins; sisters-in-law, Glenda Lins, Karen Lins and Kathy Lins; and many nieces and nephews. Even though the years were many I know they were not enough for all who held Mr. Lins so dear to their hearts. To his beloved family, I extend my deepest condolences. May the fine memories you've made with him forever bring smiles to your faces, even behind the tears you shed. In God's loving care, he is at peace. Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:29
