John George Morschauser

DEERFIELD-John G. Morschauser, age 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016. He was born in Roxbury, the son of John and Francis Morschauser. He married Irene Klein in 1950. John proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a long time a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and St. Patrick Catholic Church. John farmed in the Deerfield area for many years. He loved collecting tractors, and was an accomplished woodworker. John is survived by his wife of 66 years, Irene; sons, Allan (Karen), John O. (Judy), Ronald (Cindy) and Nick (Barb); daughters, Sandi (Steve), Jane (Bruce) and Laurie (John); sisters, Mary, Rosie, Clara Mae (Herb) and Sylvia; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Daniel and Joseph; and brothers, Arthur and Virgil. A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. PATRICK CATHOLIC CHURCH, 434 N. Main St., Cottage Grove, at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, with Father Michael Tarigopula presiding. Burial will be held at St. Patrick Cemetery, with military honors being conducted. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
