Great guy. Worked for him at Oscar Mayer, everyone in the crew liked him, we would always be amazed at some of the saying he would come out with. He was amazing how he could rattle off part numbers off the top of his head . RIP ol' Jack . May God's peace aid and comfort your family. Gary Golz

Jack was my uncle, younger brother to my father, Gene. My father died in 2008 and in December that year, Jack sent me a copy of a tribute he had written titled, "My Brother". My favorite story involves a hot, muggy August night and a basket of peaches. Jack wrote, "Our thoughts turned to a bushel of peaches that our mother had bought and was planning to can the next day. We began to speculate about how good one of those peaches would taste. There is very little in this world that tastes better than a ripe, juicy peach. Gene decided to get us each a peach. He snuck down the stairs, avoiding the ones that creaked, found the peaches in the dark, opened the wire clasps that were holding it shut, took out two peaches, put the cover back, re-fastened it, and crept back up the stairs. Those peaches," he continues, "were as good as peaches can be, which means that they were as good as anything can be." Long story short, they took turns creeping downstairs for peaches and put a "significant dent" in the bushel. Thanks for the memories, Uncle Jack. Rest in peace and say hi to Dad! Linda Davidson

I first met Jack at his beautiful property in Bear Valley. A mutual friend got his permission to bow hunt there. We had great times hunting and checking out the local watering holes. I throughly enjoyed talking with Jack. He and Millie were great hosts. A memory etched in my mind is Jack on his bike riding up the gravel road to his house on the hill, without stopping! He was a strong biker and put us young ones to shame. RIP Jack!

Jack was the most amazing man, I worked for him at Oscar Mayer he always kept us entertained with his one liners. I could not even phantom how he was able to break down a machine and turn it into an information sheet for his mechanics to follow. He was a great friend and mentor. RIP teacher, thank you for all you have done for me.
