Janeane Weitzel

SUN PRAIRIE/MADISON-Janeane A. "Nene" Weitzel, age 69, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on May 24, 1947, in Richland Center, the daughter of Frederick and Arvilla (Davis) Weitzel. Nene graduated in 1965 from Ithaca High School and later attended U.W. Platteville. Shortly after, she moved to Janesville and worked for a law firm and also the Janesville School District. While living in Janesville, Nene was active in the Janesville Little Theatre. She moved to Madison in the mid 70's and went to work for Snelling and Snelling as an employment counselor. Nene later opened her own business, Weitzel Employment Agency. Upon retirement, she did various volunteer work. Nene enjoyed reading, movies, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Nene is survived by her sister, Mary (Don) Gies; twin sister, Jan (Dick) Rinehart; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and their families, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patty; and great-nephew, Kyle Gies. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, with Father Michael Radowicz presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery in Keyesville.
