Ruth was a friend of my aunt, Fran Thurston. I also knew her because I lived in the apartment building across the street from Commercial Ave. Grocery and went in there frequently. She was such a sweet lady. My condolences to you. Barbara Pliner

I am so sorry for your loss. I was Mary Rich, Tom's wife and mother to our two daughters, Janis and Julie. I have so many memories of your beloved mom having known her as Lawrence and Irene's friend/employee for so many years and living across the street from her and Simon with our young family. She was a joy and I certainly am familiar with her penchant for keeping up that lawn. Blessing and prayers to you. Rest peacefully wonderful woman.

I am sorry for your family's loss. I am the granddaughter of Irene Rich, the owner of what was, Commercial Ave. Grocery. I spent many hours as a child "working" with Ruth as my folks often dropped me off at the store to be watched over by Ruth and Maggie and my grandma. Ruth was always very kind to me even though I was probably under foot more often than actually helping her ring up customers. Thank you Ruth for being a positive role model in my childhood. You will be missed but never forgotten.
