Johnson, Duane A.MADISON/WEST ANTELOPE TOWNSHIP, N.D.-Duane Johnson, age 89, of Madison passed away on Saturday, Sept. 10 2016, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on Dec. 4, 1926, in West Antelope Township, N.D., the son of John and Nora (Kro) Johnson. Duane married Donna Johnson on Oct. 7, 1960, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He served in Korea in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1953. Duane worked and retired from the Richard Ela Company. He liked fishing and hunting, gardening and cooking. He especially enjoyed going to Lutefisk dinners with his son, John. Duane was a longtime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Duane is survived by his children, John (Nancy) Johnson of Columbus and Kristi (Ray) Burke of Buffalo, N.Y.; grandchildren, Jared (Abigail) Zerjav and Katie Zerjav; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; daughter, Barbara Beauchaine in 2013; and siblings, Fern Rogness, Lyle Johnson, Clarence (Edna) Johnson, Earl (Yvonne) Johnson and Grant (Kathy) Johnson. Funeral services will be held at OAKWOOD VILLAGE EAST TREE OF LIFE CHAPEL, 5565 Tancho Dr., Madison, at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, with the Rev. Mark Bartell presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the Tree of Life Chapel from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Agrace HospiceCare.
