Obituary

MADISON-Frank B. Cook, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016. He was born in Milford, Ohio, June 27, 1923, the son of Charles and Esther (Robertson) Cook, Sr. He married Maxine Clinger on Oct. 13, 1950. Frank served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Served in the 71st Infantry Div., 571st Signal Company (Communications). As a young boy, he was a Great Dane dog walker. Later, he worked for a book bindery and eventually for Wisconsin Bell as a telephone repairman for 34 years. He was a member of Sons of the Pioneers. Frank is survived by his children, Karla (Richard) Olson, Rick (Timmi) Ryerson, Terry (Gary) Anderson, Shelley Neal and Kevin Cook; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; seven great- great grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Flint and Ruth (Harry) Templeton. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maxine; son, Bruce; and son-in-law, Dennis Neal. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 12 noon until 3 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, with military rites conducted. A private family burial will be held at a later date. The family would like to give special thanks to Agrace Hospice Care for their wonderful care. His story of how he met your mother will always be one of my favorite stories. He knew what he wanted in life and was happy with what he had. Quite the guy. May he rest in peace.

Was a very special person, I lost my dad when 12. Wanted to deer hunt. Frank and Dick took me the next year. Meant the world to me. Been part of my life for 55 Years. Frank and Maxine were like a second mom and dad. May you rest in peace. You an Maxine will be together again.
