OREGON/DALLAS, TEXAS-James E. "Jim" Sellers, age 64, of Oregon, passed away at home on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, surrounded by his loving partner, Cheryl Schulz, and godson, Joshua. He was born on Sept. 11, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Dunham and Mary Sellers. Jim graduated high school in Dallas, Texas and received his B.A. at UW Arlington, Texas. He enjoyed metal work and woodworking. Jim won an award for designing and building a robot. He was an active member at St. John's Lutheran Church. Jim was very loving, caring and patient. He loved taking his puppies, Joey and Oreo out for walks on Netherwood Trail. Jim is survived by his partner of 27 years, Cheryl Schulz; step-mother, Jackie Sellers; his sisters, Ann (Richard) Hekenlaible, Lisa (Todd) Sellers-Simone and Midori Sellers; mother-in-law, Edie Schulz; sisters-in-law, Luanne (Dale) Jackson and Patricia (Stewart) Atkinson; brothers-in-law, Tom (Marty) Schulz, Norman (Diane) Schulz, James (Maria) Schulz and John (Darsy) Schulz; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, with a luncheon to follow. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested for the family.
