Bernice Olson

MADISON- Bernice M. Olson passed away on Monday morning, Aug. 29, 2016, at age 96. She was born on Dec. 13, 1919, in Aurora, Ill., the daughter of Louis and Adeline Dybdal. At the age of 8 years she went to Norway in ill health for three years. Bernice married Emmett Miller and had three daughters. She worked in retail for 55 years, and was a member of First Baptist Church for 69 years, where she taught Sunday school and 2nd grade. Bernice deeply loved her church family and gave out many hugs to show her love for others. In time, she married Hugo Olson. Bernice is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Norin and Joan Turner; son-in-law, Orville Kind; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hugo; and youngest daughter, Vivian Kind. Funeral services were held at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016.
