MADISON/KIEL/PULASKI- Helen VanDerven Lasek Williamson Horneck, age 98, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016. She was born on July 5, 1918. Helen worked various jobs but was most proud of her many years as a telephone operator. She was a special lady who was loved by all who knew her. Helen is survived by her sister, Dorothy Suttner; sister-in-law, Lois VanDerven; her children, Wayne Lasek, Shirley (Bryan) Herman, Phyllis (David) Lee and Edward (Julie Jakubicz) Lasek Jr.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Lasek; her grandson, Steven Gorsege; and three husbands. A Celebration of Helen's Life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, with a reception to follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, Wis. at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. very sad to hear aunt Helen passed away. always a favorite aunt. Remember she and her family coming for visits on the farm when we were kids. Always looked forward to the visits. She was always a beautiful lady, and reminded me of mom, She will be remembered fondly.
