Obituary
MADISON-Todd A. Laylan, age 56, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 23, 2016. He was born in Madison, on April 29, 1960, the son of Rollo and Rachel (Macaulay) Laylan. Todd graduated from Oregon High School in 1978 and continued to be a proud Panther Alumni. He continued his education at MATC and received his Journeyman's Certificate in carpentry. These skills and Todd's talents brought him years of success in the construction industry and was known as an accomplished woodworker. He enjoyed spending time at his family's cabin, being active in his niece and nephew's lives and simply being with family. He was everyone's "favorite uncle". Todd was a sports enthusiasts, he followed the Badgers, Packers and the Brewers. Todd is survived by his brother, Jack (Kris) Laylan; niece, Kathleen Laylan; aunt, Bernice Macaulay; and cousins, Jean (Fred), Janet (Kris), Stephanie (David), Mike (Mary), John, Deb (Woody), Karen (Don dec.), Kim, Scott, and Karen (Larry). He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bruce Laylan; nephew, Kenneth Laylan; aunts, Marie (Al) Garber and Nancy (Dale) Brown; uncles, Bill Macaulay and Philip (Evelyn) Macaulay; and cousin, Don Macaulay. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, at 11 a.m., on Friday, July 29, 2016, with the Rev. Jeff Vanden Heuvel presiding. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Thursday, July 28, 2016, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Todd has been a part of my family since I can remember. One story that sticks out in my mind was at my college graduation. I had just gone on stage to get my diploma and was making my way back to my seat when I see this man, almost in the aisle of the graduates, with his little disposable camera, clicking away. It was Todd.....he never missed an important moment. Thanks for always being there and supporting me, I will miss you greatly.
