Ann L. Voeck

MONONA- Ann L. Voeck, age 94, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at her home. She was born on Jan. 17, 1922, in Sun Prairie, to Edwin and Ethel (Rood) Woerpel. She married David Voeck on Jan. 24, 1942, in Madison. She graduated from East High School. Ann loved children and provided in-home childcare for many years. Later, she retired from Wisconsin Central Center where she continued caring for children. There were always countless children in the house and Ann cared for them all. She loved to travel with David until his passing, and began traveling with her sister, Colleen where she enjoyed some fun times. Ann was an incredibly strong, sweet, supportive person and never spoke ill of anyone. Ann is survived by her children, Judy (Markus) Ritter, Kathy (Ron) Venden, David Voeck, Margaret (Dan) Eklof and Jon Voeck; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and her loving sister, Colleen Winer, who has taken such wonderful loving care of her. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Paul Woerpel; and sisters, Jean Woerpel, Mary Cargill and Virginia Clark. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. A private family burial will take place at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 401 Femrite Dr., Monona, at a later date.
