Obituary

MADISON- Marcella E. Gottschall, age 84, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016, from complications of COPD. She was born on June 15, 1932 in Madison, the daughter of Werner and Isabelle (Boness) Schou. Marcella graduated from Madison East High School in 1950. She married Orren Gottschall on July 7, 1951. They lived in Texas for a couple of years then moved back to Madison, where she worked for American Family Insurance for many years until her retirement. Some of her favorite things were staying at home and tending to her yard and garden. She was an avid Badger hockey fan and they attended many games over the years. She also enjoyed following the activities and accomplishments of her grandchildren. Marcella is survived by her son, Scott; daughters, Jill (Kurt) Schneider, Joann (Jim) Patton; two grandchildren, Tyler and Carly Patton; sisters, Berniece Post, Bernadine Post, and Leila (Leo) Clark; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Orren. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, on Thursday July 7, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 7p.m. A private burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens.
