Leola Elizabeth Hermanson

TOWN OF HAMPDEN/TOWN OF LEEDS-Leola E. Hermanson, age 97, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016. She was born on November 9, 1918 in the Township of Leeds, Wis, the daughter of Otto and Leona Lanzendorf.  Leola married Irvin Hermanson on March 12, 1943. She was a grade school teacher at Pleasant Valley School, Longlade School and Lowville Schools. Leola was a cook at Hampden School. She retired from the Wisconsin Cheeseman.  Leola loved gardening, birdwatching, sewing, cooking and spending time with her family. Leola is survived by her son, Norman Hermanson; daughter, Marge Hermanson; grandchildren, Sonja (Hans) Hanson, Timothy (Marni) Hermanson and Michael Hermanson; six great grandchildren, Tanner, Ale, Kaden, Colten, Nora and Samuel; sisters, Ruth Thompson and Mildred Bliech. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1999; her siblings Wilbert Lanzendorf and Dolores Haupt. Funeral Services will be held at SPRING PRAIRIE LUTHERAN CHURCH, N509 County Rd. C, DeForest, at 2 pm, on Monday, June 27, 2016 with Pastor Sylvia Lee-Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Town of Hampden Cemetery. Visitation will held at the church from 12 noon until the time of the service on Monday. The family request memorials to the Alzheimer's Association.
