Obituary
DEERFIELD/MONONA-Janet A. Olman, age 79, of Monona, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at her residence. She was born on Dec. 1, 1936, in Excelsior Wis., the daughter of Gerald and Merle (Powell) Anderson. Janet married Donald Olman on July 2, 1955, in Steuben, Wis. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, who was always there for everyone, opening her home to many. Janet was a homemaker, seamstress, typist and a devoted caretaker for many elderly people. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, journaling, gardening, artistry, being with family and friends and her involvement in her LDS faith. Don and Jan enjoyed traveling, which included spending winters in Arizona for eight years and to Hawaii to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Janet is survived by her loving husband, Donald; children, Teresa (Eric) Landmann, Cheryl (John) Probert and Ronald Olman; grandchildren, Jessica (Scot) Mooers, Mikhail (Jessie) Landmann, Jeremy (Tammy) Olman, Angela (Hunter) Weber and Cory (Sydni) Nelson; great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Karysma, Kali, Jadin, Malachi and Atticus; sisters-in-law, Marlene Gray and Judith Rubiel-Perez; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Michael and Gerald Olman; sisters, Daisy Curtis and Linda O'Kane; brother, Emery Anderson; sister-in-law, Barbara Simpson; brother-in-law, Ted Curtis; and mother and father-in-law, Cora and Elliot Olman. A very special thanks to those that made her end of life more comforting and gave her the assurance that she was truly loved, Jackie Walker, Cheryl Lemke, Bill and Illene Bauers, her Agrace team, Nicole, Sharon, Sarah, Loretta and Lori, her caretakers from Golden Heart, and many family and friends. Funeral services will be held at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, 2nd Ward, 5602 Irongate Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, July 22, 2016. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, July 21, 2016, and at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. I will always remember all the heart to heart talks that Mom & I had whenever Jerry & I came to visit on Sunday's. She will truly be missed and I will never forget her.

curtis wittwer Who would have thought that I would connect with Don and Janet. What a lovely couple. I wish I'd met them earlier in my life. I can still see Janet's smile. And I don't expect Don to low down anytime soon.
