MADISON-Melinda Marie "Mindy" Hughes, age 46, of Madison, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 6, 1970, in Madison, the daughter of Robert and Kathleen (Statz) Hughes. Melinda was a great softball and volleyball mom and treasured the time she spent with her family. She enjoyed playing pool and darts with her friends. Melinda is survived by her daughters, Ashley and Katelyn Marshall; parents, Robert and Kathleen Hughes; brother, Robert Hughes; nieces, Edyn and Emily; nephew, Joshua; her daughters' father, James Marshall; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; and fiancé, Craig Hoernke. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park St., Oregon, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Monday, July 18, 2016. Mindy was a fun loving person who loved life and all those in it. She was a very caring mom, daughter, sister and aunt. Mindy touched everyone she met with a smile and her vibrant personality.
