OREGON/MADISON/BEAVER DAM/ELYSIAN, MN./MANKATO,MN.- Theresa Ann (Howard) Mees, age 56, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016, from complications due to a tragic fall at home. She was born on July 10, 1959, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato, MN., the daughter of Frank and Shirley (Lamont) Howard. Theresa grew up in Mankato graduating from Mankato East High school in 1977. She received her degree in nursing from Mankato State University, and also received her Master's Degree in Health Management. Theresa held several positions at ISJ-Mayo Health Systems; she started as a floor nurse in Orthopedics, then O.B. nurse and later the O.B. nurse manager. In 2011, she left her employer of 30 years as the V.P. of Quality Resources while serving as a board member on the Senior Team. Theresa then took a similar position at the Beaver Dam Hospital in Wisconsin. On Aug. 20, 2012, she joined the Wisconsin Collaborative of Health Quality, Madison, WI as Director of Quality and most recently became their COO. On Aug. 28, 1982, Theresa was united in marriage to Randall Scott Mees, son of Harold and Rosemary (Schugel) Mees at Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church in North Mankato. They continued to live in Mankato and were blessed with three children. Theresa loved to cook, garden, and spend time with her family. She will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew her. Theresa is survived by her husband, Randall; children, Isaak Mees, Leah (Jason) Lewis, and Karie Mees; grandchildren, Emilee Lewis and unborn grandson, Wyatt Lewis; mother, Shirley (Lamont) Krenik; step-father, Tom Krenik; brother, Michael Howard; mother-in-law , Rosemary (Schugel) Mees; sister-in-law, Renae (Tom) Moore; brothers-in-law, Robert Mees and Richard Mees; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Howard; father-in-law, Harold Mees; beloved uncle, Curtis Lamont; as well as all grandparents. A Celebration of Life will be held at BELGRADE AVE. UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 325 Sherman St., North Mankato, MN 56003, at 1 p.m., on Saturday, July 16, 2016. Visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service with a luncheon following. Private family burial will be at a later date at CEDAR HILL CEMETERY, Elysian, MN. Memorials may gifted to Breast Cancer Research Foundation or donor's choice in Theresa's name.
