Donald Dean Woodward

MADISON-Donald D. Woodward, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016.  He was born on July 21, 1927, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Clarence L. and Edna Hazel (Williams) Woodward. He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Miller on Feb. 17, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois.  She preceded him in death in 1995. Don was a World War II veteran having proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Illinois.  Don owned and operated Southern Wisconsin Roofing Company from 1960 through 1990 until his retirement when he moved to Florida.  He was an avid sports fan, especially fishing and golfing, enjoyed boating and an occasional "Bud" every now and then.  Don was a member of the James M. Hays Masonic Lodge #331 of Wauwatosa since 1957. He was active with the Zor Shrine and was the Circus Director when the Shrine Circus would come to Madison.  He is survived by his children, Susan, Tom (Patti), Scott (Mary), Sally (Julie) and Gary (Lisa); seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a brother Kenneth Woodward.  In honor of Don's wishes there will be no services.
