Gary Lee Salverson

MCFARLAND-Gary L. Salverson, age 63, of McFarland, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016, at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on July 29, 1952, the son of Kenneth and Helen (Kvamme) Salverson. Gary graduated from La Follette High School in 1970. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1973-1977, and upon his return, attended Wisconsin School of Electronics for two years. He married Sandi Paske in 1973 and they had three children. In 1992 he was re-married to Betty Johnson, who preceded him in death in 2013. Gary retired from Xerox as a service technician. Gary was a member of the American Legion Post No. 534. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was always willing to help others and also enjoyed cooking and camping. Gary is survived by his sons, Thad (Rina) Salverson and Nate (Michelle) Salverson; grandchildren, Logan, Alex, Dillon and Easton; step-daughters, Lisa Johnson, Denise Johnson-Walterscheit and Debbie (Brian) Nelson; step-grandchildren, Ariana, Preston, Nolan, Evelyn, Christopher, Melissa, Brady and Alina; siblings, Betty (Pat) Emmons of Poynette, Ken (Phyllis) Salverson of Heath, Texas; Pamela (Randy) Clauer of Madison, Gordon Salverson of Virginia Beach, Va., Diane (Edmond) Allen of Seneca, S.C., Debra (Abundio) Aguilar of Cottage Grove, and Jacqueline (Paul) Parisi of Stoughton; sister-in-law, Kathleen Salverson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; daughter, Corrina; brother, Donald; and step-granddaughter, Karina. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at noon, on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. A committal service will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
