FOND DU LAC/ MIDDLETON- Hailie N. Smith, age 16, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 24, 2016, with her family by her side from a lifelong battle with hydrocephalus. She was born on March 9, 2000, the daughter of Phil and Becki Smith. She loved to cook and spend time with her dogs, Lola and Lambeau. Hailie also enjoyed camping with her friends at Pride of America Campground. She is survived by her parents; sister, Courtney Froehlich (Isaac Greil); brother, Mitchell Smith; sister, Madison Smith; niece, Adelynn; nephew, Carter; grandparents, Mary (Rick Shell) Froehlich, Charles (Audrey Baehr) Froehlich and Cindi (Glenn) Moss; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Phillip Smith. A Celebration of Hailie's Life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 1 p.m., on Sunday, July 3, 2016, with a time of fellowship to follow. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Sunday. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Bermans Iskandar and his staff, as well as the wonderful staffs at the American Family Children's Hospital and Agrace HospiceCare Inc., for all the care they gave to Hailie. My sympathy to your family---it has been a long time since you left Ahern and I lost track of Hailie's ups & downs--looks like she was a beautiful 16 yr old--I remember at times you would not have thought she would get to be this age---what a courageous little girl!
