Obituary
MADISON/COTTAGE GROVE-Louise E. Wollin, age 90, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016, from Congestive Heart Failure. She was born on Aug. 5, 1925, in Cross Plains, the daughter of James and Katherine (Handel) Brown. She met Lloyd Wollin at a dance at Turner Hall. They were married on June 10, 1944, and made Madison their home. Louise started her working career by washing milk bottles at a local creamery. She worked in the food industry for 28 years at SS Kresge and then the Wisconsin Canteen. After her retirement she continued working alongside her grandson at McDonald's. Louise was an image of strength and endurance. She was a three time cancer survivor who overcame many struggles. Louise had a positive outlook and a courageous spirit. She enjoyed gardening, canning, decorating cakes and volunteering to help others in need. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Louise is survived by her children, Donna (Clayton) Smith of Cottage Grove and James (Cindy) Wollin of Oregon; seven grandchildren; Eric Hollfelder, Ross (Stacy) Hollfelder, Wendy (Rick) Klinger, Michael Wollin, Thomas Wollin, Derek (Martha) Smith and Monica Smith ; great-grandchildren, Dylan Klinger, Trevor Klinger, Jacob and Abby Hollfelder; great-great-grandchild, Hayden Klinger; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Cordio-Schneider. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; brothers, Archie, Charlie, Edward, Herman, and Lyle; and sisters, Eleanor Gates, Levina Stiegman and Leora Austin. Funeral services will be held at ABIDING SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 406 W. Cottage Grove Rd., Cottage Grove, at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, with the Rev. Nathanael Abrahamson presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Monday, June 27, 2016, and also at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Abiding Shepherd Lutheran Church, Heartland Hospice and UW Carbone Cancer Center. A special thank you to Heartland Hospice for all of their loving care. I remember Louise when she worked at Kresge's with my mom, Eileen Schaller and with Ruth in the lunch counter there. Seems like a long time ago.

Aunt Louise, My little aunt with the big smile. Always so loving and just wonderful to be around. I didn't know that she had passed until after the funeral, but I wanted you to know how much we loved her. I will always remember her smile and her kindness.
