Obituary

WAUNAKEE/CROSS PLAINS-Dorothy B. (Royston) Faust, age 85, passed from this life into the loving arms of God and entered the Kingdom of Heaven to meet up with Curt her husband of 62 years on Monday, May 30, 2016, with her children holding her hand. Dorothy was born March 7, 1931, in Mazomanie, the daughter of William and Mabel (Brumm) Royston.  She graduated from Mazomanie High School in 1949.  She met the love of her life at the Riverview Ballroom in Sauk City.  They married November 7, 1953 in Mazomanie.  Dorothy and Curt were lifelong members of St. Martin's and Peace Lutheran churches.  She had a love for helping and being with people and enjoyed volunteering at The Manor. There were always baked goods, fudge and hand knit dish cloths on her counter for family and friends. She shared her gift of knitting and baking with her grandchildren.  At Christmas time, people waited to get her peppernuts. Over the years Dorothy worked for the State of Wisconsin, Chiron Bone & Joint, Sunnyside Seed Farm, ASTD and the Waisman Center. She worked the election polls for years and enjoyed many years with the Cross Plains women's card club.  She was a member of the Cross Plains American Legion Auxiliary Post 245, serving as secretary.  Our mother was the sweetest and kindest woman you would ever have the pleasure of meeting.  Always full of love and kisses, even 'til her last day on earth.   Dorothy is survived by her children, Kathleen (Frank) Schroeder, Jill Faust, Rodney (Judy) Faust and Heidi (Doug) Rauls; her ten grandchildren whom she cherished and loved as they always put a smile on her face and she was always sending something home with them; Luke Gilles, Kait (Dan) Timler, Nick Gilles, Lacey (Kevin Veltri) Schroeder, Marcus Gilles, Anna Faust, Morgan Gilles, Sarah Faust, Scott Rauls and Nicole Rauls. She is also survived by her favorite niece Patti Duhr, her friend of 60 years Darlene Capel, special neighbors, Connie and John Roewer, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband Curt; a baby daughter; her sister Mary Duhr and brother Jack Royston.  Funeral Services will be held at PEACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 701 S. Century Ave., Waunakee, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016, with Pastors Karen and Doug Locken presiding.   Burial will be in Valley Home Cemetery, Cross Plains.  Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.  at GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME , 2421 Church Street, Cross Plains  and also on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.   Mom, G-ma, aunt and friend, you will be missed so much.  We are beyond blessed with all that you taught and showed us through your example of love and kindness. "Well anyways"... Til we meet again Sweetie Pie.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Kathy, Jill, Rodney, and Heidi.....I am so sorry for your family's loss so soon after your father's passing. At least they are together again. I have a few good memories of playing at your house and how nice your parents were. Your families are in my heart. Love and hugs, Jan Hartwig

I remember all the picnics, cookouts and birthday parties your parents shared with our parents. Your sweet mom and how crazy fun Curt was. The July birthday parties were always so fun and your parents were always there. I smile every time I think of them. Our sincere sympathy to all of your family. Viv and Chuck Hayes (Statz)
