Jacquelyn Lucy Karls

DANE-Jacquelyn L. "Jackie" Karls, age 87, of Dane, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. She was born on March 19, 1929 in Dane, the daughter of Jack and Linda (Dohm) Karls. Jackie served in the U.S. Army Women's Army Corps (WAC) from 1954 to 1961. She worked for the U.S. Post Office and at Dane Manufacturing. Jackie volunteered with home health services as a caregiver and with family members who needed care over the years. She loved to sing, even when by herself. Jackie loved to play cards and have a drink once in a while. She did love her Bloody Mary's. Her farm background prompted her life-long love of animals. She always had a garden. Jackie had many great years with family and friends. Jackie is survived by her sister, Vonnie Clemens; sister-in-law, Margaret Karls; nieces and nephews, including Linda Wipperfurth, Harry Havlik, Jeff Karls, Kathy Karls, Keith Clemens, Scott Clemens, Dennis Karls, Dale Clemens, Bob Clemens, Mary Jo Ziegler, Kim Streeter, Dean Clemens, Daun Maier, Joe Clemens, Theresa Breunig, Cathy Meinholz and Marcia Whittington. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Louise Havlik and husband Robert; brother, August "Bud" Karls; brother-in-law, Joseph Clemens. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at BLESSED TRINITY CATHOLIC PARISH AT ST. MICHAELS, 109 S. Military Road, Dane, at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2016. Burial will be at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Memorials may be made to Blessed Trinity Parish, Agrace HospiceCare or Dane American Legion Post No. 503. Jackie is dearly loved and will be dearly missed.
