MADISON-James M. Doris, age 45, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016. He was born on July 14, 1970 in Madison, the son of Thomas and Catherine (Dourlain) Doris. James attended Allis, Sennett and La Follette High School, graduating in 1988. He attended Wisconsin School of Electronics after high school. Jim served his country in the US Navy on the USS Eisenhower. He attended Herzing University, receiving several degrees thru 2012. Jim was employed at Tetra Tech as a surveyor. He was an avid hockey fan, enjoyed skateboarding, snowboarding, concerts and long walks in the arboretum. Jim was also very proud of his Irish heritage, displaying his flags and other mementos he had as well as his Irish tattoos. He gave the gift of life as an organ donor, donating his heart, kidneys and liver.
Jim is survived by his parents, Thomas and Catherine of Lodi; brother, John (fiancée Sally Jackson) of Madison; sister, Christine (Hank) Henthorne of Lodi; aunts and uncles, John and Carol Klinkner, Andrew Pecosky, Ray Betts of Madison and Virginia (Leroy) Schafer of DeForest; niece, Kate Doris of Waupun and cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Eva Doris and Mary Dourlain; cousin, Dan Klinkner and aunts, Anita Doris, Nancy Betts and Kathryn Pecosky.

I'm in complete shock. I was Jim's professor at Herzing. He shined every time he had to do a quatitative analysis problem on the board. Teacihng was his calling and I told him many times. He was such a natural! I'm so sorry to know he is no longer with us. Rest in peace Jim.

Jim was the most passionate, positive and energetic student I ever had in a class. He loved learning, sharing and competing...he thrived on it. Rest in peace Jim, you will be missed. My condolences to Jim's family.

Tom, Cathy, and Chris... just wanted to express sympathy and our sadness as we learned of Jim's passing. Jim was always such a kind-hearted guy with friends from all walks of life. Though I had not seen him in a couple of years, it was always a pleasure catching up with him when we did bump into one another.
