Laura E Magee

MADISON-Laura E. Magee, age 98, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Oakwood West in Madison.  She was born on May 9, 1918 in Wisconsin Dells, the daughter of William and Emma (Zigenhagen) Benz. She was raised on a farm and graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School. Laura was united in marriage to Charles Magee in 1934.  She worked part time jobs after raising her family including Cuna and The Masonic Temple. Laura was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 70 years. She was an active member of the church and many of its activities, including the Altar Guild and Sewing Circle. She was a wonderful wife of 67 years and a great mother.  Laura loved nature, especially the time she spent with her husband at their Westfield retreat watching the birds, deer and turkeys. Laura is survived by her son Bob. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2001, her daughter, Beverly (Don) Hauge in 1993 and her four brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at OAKWOOD RESURRECTION CHAPEL, 6201 Mineral Point Road, Madison at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 with the Reverend Susan Schneider presiding. Visitation will be held at Oakwood on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
