Obituary

WAUNAKEE-Rylan John Schmidt, age 7, of Waunakee passed away on Friday May 13, 2016 at the American Family Children's Hospital. He was born April 5, 2009 in Madison, the son of Adam and Jennifer (Acker) Schmidt. Rylan enjoyed sunny days under a shade tree, hanging out on the lake in Minocqua, running with his family and friends through an organization called "My Team Triumph", hanging with his friends at school, snuggles with his dog, brother, and sister, and listening to classic rock. Rylan is survived by his parents, Adam and Jennifer; brother and sister, Brayden and Alexis; grandparents, Rocky and Joan Acker, and John and Patty Schmidt; great-grandma, Ruth Acker; aunt and uncle, Michelle (Jarrod) Vande Hey; and cousin Abigail; uncle and aunt, Wesley (Brittany) Acker; and cousin, Bentley; uncle Ramsey Acker; uncle and aunt, Joe (Misty) Schmidt; and cousins, Peyton and Keaton; uncle and aunt, Mike (Kristin) Schmidt. Rylan was preceded in death by great-grandparents Anthony and Elaine Buechner, Herb Acker, Frank and Lorraine Kandis, and Murphy and Betty Schmidt. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave. Middleton, at 12 noon on Wednesday May 18, 2016. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 am until the time of the service on Wednesday. Memorials in Rylan's name may be gifted to Gio's Garden, 2028 Parmenter St. Middleton, WI 53562, My Team Triumph, 1406 S. Always sleeping little man...however, there was that one time when you were 'sleeping' and I caught you peeking at me;) Yep! I saw it! Thank you for inspiring us to try and find a way for athletes with different abilities to earn their Varsity letter. You will be missed by so many.
