Obituary

CROSS PLAINS-Charles W. "Chuck" Boehnen, age 68, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born on November 3, 1947, in Madison, the son of William and Lorna (Sander) Boehnen. Chuck was a 1966 graduate of Middleton High School and proudly served his country in the US Army from 1967 thru 1973 serving in the Vietnam War.   He was united in marriage to the love of his life Patricia Bruce on April 9, 1983. Chuck worked for Dane County as a public health aide for more than 25 years.  Chuck enjoyed  traveling with his wife, fishing  and was an avid Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan,  but he truly treasured most the moments he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he adored. He is survived by his loving wife Pat; a son Thomas Cape; daughters, Kimberly Cape, Debra Cape (Ron) and Karen Kittleson; 12 grandchildren, Cory, Krystal (Ben), Danny (Brittany), Amanda (Greg), Derek, Justin (Tori), Tyler, Lizzy(Corey), Cody, Austin, Hannah and Katrina; 4 great-grandchildren, Stephne, Trenton, Anastasia and Milo, a special sister-in-law, Dorothy Achilli, brother-in-law, John (Lynn) Bruce, sister-in-law, Linda Bruce, his beloved feline companion "Baby Boo",  and many other relatives and friends.  Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ronald Heintz, mother-in-law Jayne Bruce, longtime friend and brother-in-law, Bill Bruce, brother-in-law, LeRoy Bruce and sisters-in-law, Nancy Ziegler and Maureen Bruce .  Funeral services will be held at ST. MARTIN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2427 Church Street, Cross Plains at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016 with the Reverend Jack Finney presiding.  Burial will be in Valley Home Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at the church.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Chuck was a wonderful Husband to my sister Pat. He was a great father to her children. He was a very caring person. Family always came first. He love people that could make him laugh. Simsons, Johhny Carson , and Jeff Dunham . Spent many laughs with him. He will be greatly miss. He leave us with lots of loving memory. Dorothy Achilli

I'm so sorry and sad to read of Chuck's death. We worked together at the health department for many years. I always enjoyed conversations and greatly valued his help with my plants. His were beautiful. Judith Howard
