Obituary

MADISON-Christine M. Riddle, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. She was born on June 2, 1942, in Raquira, Colombia, the daughter of Isidoro Melo and Maria Luisa Vargas. Chris came to the United States in 1968 and met and married her best friend, Michael Riddle on Oct. 20, 1973. She worked for the Springs Window Fashions Company in Middleton for 30 ½ years until her retirement in 2008. Chris is survived by her husband, Michael; children, Joseph and Jennifer of Madison; sisters, Lucila, Sr. Teofilde, Elena, and Elisa of Colombia; brother, Victor (Carol) Melo of Madison and their children, Alexander (Michelle) Melo and Emily (John) Melo Cauthen; her beloved Chihuahua, King Tut; and many nieces and nephews whom reside in Colombia. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Maria del Tránsito. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, May 20, 2016, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday. Mike, Joe, Jenny and Victor & families - We are so sorry to learn of the passing of Chris. What a wonderful friend and neighbor Chris was. It was always a comfort to know that our mom and dad had someone so wonderful and willing to help them if needed. We have a lot of wonderful neighborhood memories we are thankful for.
