Obituary
MADISON— Shirley L. Holland, age 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Agrace HospiceCare, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on March 19, 1939, in Columbus, the daughter of Myron and Leona (Boettcher) Yerges. She married Roger Holland on Oct. 14, 1961. Shirley graduated in 1960 from Madison Business College with a business degree and then went on as an office manager and bookkeeper for a few different companies. Shirley was an avid volunteer throughout her life, a member of St. Paul's Church for over 55 years, working and volunteering for the North/Eastside Coalition, and retiring in July 2004. Shirley is survived by her children, Deb Notstad of Stoughton, Cheryl (Jim) Edwards of Stoughton, and Bruce of Verona; grandchildren, Jennie Masten, Daniel (Kathy) Notstad, Adam Notstad, Jackson Edwards, Tom (Erica) Edwards, and Allison Edwards; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Morgan Masten, and Madison Notstad; sister, Judy Vick of Columbus; brothers, Ronald Yerges of Columbus and Fred Yerges of Waterloo; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; son, Wayne; brother-in-law, Wilbert Vick; and sister-in-law, Donna Yerges. Funeral services will be held at ST. PAUL'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2126 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, April 22, 2016, with the Rev. Gerry Kuhnke presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kay Daubenspec, Roxanne Keldal, Senior Helpers, Dr. William Schwab, UW Home Health, and Agrace Hospice Care for all of the wonderful care and support.
