Obituary

MADISON- Myrtle G. (Kosanke) Boedecker was born Easter Sunday, March 31, 1918, and returned to her Lord on May 9, 2016. She was 98 years old. She was the daughter of Clara (Behrends) and William Kosanke of LaCrosse, Ind. Myrtle was united in marriage to Carl A. Boedecker on June 4, 1960. She is survived by her husband; daughter, Karen; sister, Lorraine Britt; and sister-in-law, Vera Boedecker. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and their families. She was pre-deceased by her parents; three infant children; and many family and friends. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 4 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., on Sunday, May 15, 2016, with Pastor Dan Kowert presiding. Private entombment services will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK in Monona. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Church of the Living Christ in Madison. Our family would like to thank Agrace HospiceCare for their loving assistance which permitted Myrtle to remain in her home and allowed her daughter to continue as her primary caregiver. What I will remember about my husband's Aunt Myrtle, is that she seemed to so easily see the "wonderfulness" in people, and wouldn't hesitate to tell them so!...Always cheerful, engaging, and curious about your life, and totally interested. She was a darling!

Having worked with the Boedecker's for nearly 7 years, Myrt, Carl and Karen became family to me. Always cheerful and loving. I will miss Myrtle's quick sense of humor and her generous spirit. I am truly grateful and blessed to have had her in my life.
