Obituary

MADISON- John Anthony George passed away suddenly on his birthday, April 27, 2016, at the age of 49. He was born on April 27, 1967, in San Jose, California, the son of Richard John George and Janet Louise Johnson. John was a lifelong and very passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Milwaukee Brewers and NASCAR. He along with his brothers, Dan and Richard, held seats at the Indy 500 for many years. He began his career with TruGreen when he was a junior in high school at the age of 17 as a telemarketer and worked there for 32 years, holding several different positions, most recently that of Marketing Manager. He was Sales Manager of the year twice and won many other awards. He never missed a day of work. His work ethic went above and beyond the norm. He was interested in the success and mentorship of others. In the words of a co-worker, David J. Bagley: "John made and has a lineage of individuals in his life that changed the course and direction of their lives in a positive way". He was very proud to personally mentor members of the TruGreen family, among them: Phil Glock, J.J. Veith and Brent Rundle. He was a patient, loving, strong and compassionate man who loved with all of his heart. He lived for his children, Austin, Dustin and Brianna and was a doting grandfather who cherished every second with Sophia and J.J. a.k.a. "the bug". He was the soulmate, confidant and best friend to his wife of 20 years, Michelle. He was the glue to his family, which he loved unconditionally. He had a great love for his mother, Janet, and a bond with his brothers that was unbreakable. He is survived by his wife, Michelle; his children, Austin, Dustin and Bri; his grandchildren, Sophia and J.J.; his mother, Janet George; his brother, Dan (Vicki) Marohl; his sister-in-law, Jan Marohl; and his nieces and nephews, Anne, Jennifer, Eric and Peter. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard John George; and his brother, Richard Marohl. This isn't much of a memory than it is some of the best times I had with my dad. The packer cowboy games I always looked forward to regardless of who we both knew that if the packers won he was in for a good ribbing and if the cowboys won I would never hear the end of it until we played again... I love you man... No one will ever know how much you truly ment to me R.I.P. Dad.

Such a great guy. I loved Sundays he come in to The Sports Pub dressed in his Cowboy gear. We did the usual banter about him being a Cowboy fan and me being a Packer Fan. I will find a Cowboy Emblem to put up to honor you. Rest in peace, you will be greatly missed.
