Obituary
COTTAGE GROVE-Ricky Ellis "Rick" Hatton, age 51, of Cottage Grove, passed away at Badger Prairie Health Care Center in Verona, Wis., on April 15, 2016. Rick was born on Sept. 16, 1964, in Madison, to Richard and Charmaine (Whitney) Hatton. He graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1982 and attended college at Stevens Point University. On Nov. 11, 1989, he married his high school sweetheart Lisa Marie Vitense in Monona, Wis. Rick worked at Madison Concrete Pipe for 18 years prior to his retirement. Rick's passions were hunting, snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle, and playing home talent baseball for many years. Ricky was hardworking. He was devoted and loved spending time with his family and friends. Rick is survived by his children, Brie A. Hatton, Taylor M. Hatton, and Chase M. Hatton; the mother of his children, Lisa Hatton; father, Richard (Barbara) Hatton; sisters, Kathy Bedner and Sherri Schoenemann; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Charmaine; and his grandparents. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 6 p.m., on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, with Fr. Randy Timmerman presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Memorials in Ricky's name may be gifted to Huntington's Disease Society of America WI Chapter, 2041 N 107th St. Wauwatosa, WI 53226.
