Obituary
MADISON–Frederick Donald Loy, age 66, of Madison, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016, at home. He was born on May 19, 1949, in Madison, the son of Keith Frederick and Waiva Jean Hewitt. Frederick married Joan Lillian Powell on Oct. 14, 1972, in Madison. He graduated from Lafollette High School and MATC. Frederick served in U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1971-1972. He worked at Nate's Place, Blau's Village Market, Straka Meats and Village Market, which he purchased in 2005, and became Fred's Village Market. Frederick was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and Whitetails Unlimited and served on the Board of Directors for Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Frederick is survived by his wife, Joni; sons, Christopher (Elizabeth Bratz), Travis (Tanya) and Jeremy (Tamara); grandchildren, Sawncia Rae, Hunter, Emily, Preston Bratz and Wyatt; siblings, Denise (Jim) Green, Yvonne Utke, Darell (Kathy) and Nancy Loy; and multiple nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Keith; mother, Waiva Jean; best friends, Norm and Nancy Smith; and numerous family members. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, April 15, 2016. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens, with a lunch to follow at Hope Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, April 14, 2016, and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
