Obituary
MADISON—Johnell Hunt, age 69, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016. He was born May 21, 1947, in Greenville, Miss., to William and Elnnora Hunt. He was the seventh son among 18 children. As a United States Army Private, he was stationed in Mississippi. Once he was honorably discharged, he moved to Madison and attended Madison Area Technical College and earned a degree in the Welding and Blueprint Program. After graduating, Johnell was employed by the City of Madison Parks Department for 33 years. His retirement was spent tending to his garden, fishing, and drinking beer in the sunshine or spending time with his friends at the VFW and the Labor Temple. Johnell is survived by a son, Johnell Morgan; a daughter, Jennifer Roblee; two granddaughters, Brittany and Ilianara; two grandsons, Cedric and John Jr.; Kathie Kaus, his "someone special", his "Karri Shaq", his longtime companion of 22 years misses him and remembers his love of animal, fishing, and the outdoors; Debbie Smith, his lifelong friend and mother of his two sons remembers his sense of humor and says that he will be greatly missed; Patricia Roblee, friend of 48 years and mother of his daughter wishes he was still with us and cherishes her memories of him. The family wishes to invite everyone to the LABOR TEMPLE, 1602 S. Park St., Madison, for a Celebration of Life from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016. Feel free to tell a story or bring one for our eulogist to read out loud for you.
