Obituary
MIDDLETON-Miriam Julia Dregne, age 93, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016. She was born on July 9, 1922 in Maple, Wis., to Alexander and Hilda (Aho) Antilla. She attended grade school in Maple and graduated from East High School in Superior in 1940. She was employed by a rural Co-op in Maple; as a legal secretary, and by the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture and Veteran's Administration. Miriam was united in marriage to Bernard Dregne on June 9, 1950. They lived in Lancaster, Viroqua and Middleton. Miriam was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and was a volunteer in many areas. She was a member of the National Associate of Retired Federal Employees where she held the office of Chapter 120 secretary for a number of years. She loved her home and loved having her family gather at her home. Miriam is survived by her daughters, Mary (Michael) McKenna, Barbara (Wayne) Wahler; grandchildren, Lt. Commander Patrick (Jenny) Mc Kenna, Christine (Scott) Hoebel, Nicholas Wahler, Derek (Keri) Wahler; great-grandchildren, Michael and Elliott McKenna, Caitlin Hoebel and Elena Wahler and a brother, Henry Antilla. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bernard Degne and brothers and sisters. Memorial services will be held at ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7337 Hubbard Ave, Middleton at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 with the Reverend Heather Hayward presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, St. Luke's Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
