MADISON-Phyllis A. Daggett, age 86, of Madison, "Keeper of the Angels" is now an angel, and passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Trinity Senior Living. She was born on Jan. 26, 1930, in Stanley, Wis., the daughter of Peter and Ethel (LeBlanc) Lauer. Phyllis married Bob Daggett on Oct. 15, 1955, in Madison. She worked at Dean Clinic for 25 years and volunteered for Independent Living for over 35 years. Phyllis was a member, and past chaplain, of the Women of the Moose. She was a longtime member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and most recently a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church. Phyllis is survived by her children, Mary (Gary) Cragin, Jacqueline (Ray) Bachmann, and Michael (Cari) Daggett; grandchildren, Joshua (Jenny) Walters, Jeni (Nick) Hilker, Connie (Seth) Swieter, Robert Tallman (fiancé, Ashton Lambert), and Karl Bachmann (fiancé, Jessica Becker); great-grandchildren, Haley, Jase, Josie, Jacqueline and Aubrey; and special friend, Ellen Uebersetzig and her husband, Tom. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; daughter, Gerri Walters; infant sister, Margaret; and her beloved dog, Shadow. Private family services will be held at Lakeview Chapel in Madison, with the Rev. Dean Kirst presiding. Entombment will be held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter Alzheimer's Association or Underdog Pet Rescue, Madison. "Come good home" Mom. We love you. Phyllis and Bob have always been special to our family and will always be remembered.
My parents would always tell the story of when they moved to Madison and couldn't unlock their trunks as the keys were lost (probably locked in the trunk but they wouldn't admit that), and how Bob came to the rescue. I also remember the creative crafts Phyllis did as when I was in 3rd grade at St. Bernards she had taken a butter container and covered it with yarn and placed a picture of Mary in it for my Chris Kringle gift. I always enjoyed seeing Phyllis at church and have kept her in my prayers when she wasn't able to come to St. Bernards any longer.

I enjoyed my longtime history of working with both Phyllis and Bob at the Dean Clinic. They became very dear friends and I have lots of wonderful memories of fun times together, going out to eat and attending birthdays and family weddings. I will miss Phyllis, but will continue to recall many happy times spent together. My sympathies go out to her children and their families. Love you all, Drucie

Both Phyllis and Bob were so good to my mother, Muriel Bowers. They met each other thru Independent Living. My mother loved the friendship they shared. Each Christmas, Phyllis would give my Mother a hand made Christmas ornament. She loved these. I just this past Christmas framed them and will think of Phyllis each time I see them. I'm so saddened to hear of your Moms passing. She was a great lady!! I have enjoyed the many laughs and memories I hold dear of your Mom and Dad from Smokey Hollow. They will never be forgotten!! I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am about your mothers passing. I'm sure you don't know who I am but my mom was Dorothy Washa who was your dads sister. And I remember my mom telling me when your mom would call her to catch up with her.
