SAUK CITY/OREGON – Ronald R. Steichen, age 77, of Sauk City and formerly of Oregon, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016, at Maplewood of Sauk City. He was born on Aug. 29, 1938, in Stoughton, the son of Richard and Ramona (Putnam) Steichen. Ronald was united in marriage to Helen A. Wood. Ronald is survived by his wife, Helen; children, Michael Steichen of Baraboo, Jeff (Tina) Tober of Oregon and Rebecca Miller of Baraboo; grandchildren along with numerous other relatives and friends. I worked with Ron on and off since 1984.
From Klusendorf all the way through Symdon’s.
He would stop by even after he retired when he was driving truck and tell a story or two.
I remember those eyebrows and that laugh.
I also remember building a mini-bike frame years ago for him out of exhaust pipe. I think that was for his son.
Ron was a good man. A kind man.
Like the bug shield on the old Blazer, rest “Easy Big Fella”.
