Magda K. Sutherland

MIDDLETON-Magda Kaethe "Maggie" Sutherland, age 96, of Middleton, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016. She was born on April 27, 1919, in Neumunster, Germany the daughter of Julius and Magda Anders. Magda married Carl Frederick Sutherland in Germany and then moved to Madison with him where she helped Carl run his business, Electric Motor Service, Inc. (EMS Industrial). She played a vital role in the business and helped make it the success that it is today. Maggie is survived by her daughter, Eva (Bill) Hinnendael of Middleton; her son, Carl H. Sutherland and his domestic partner, Stacey Modahl of Hudson and her son, Peter (Debby) Sutherland of Erie, PA.; nine grandchildren, Monica (Ken) Hovind, Michelle (Jason) Sanger, Greg Hinnendael , Kelly Sutherland, Marky Sutherland, Lisa (Joshua) Saunders, Brian Sutherland, Molly (Grant) Peterson, and Scott Sutherland. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl in 1991; and brother Guenter. A Celebration of Life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016. Burial will follow at Blooming Grove Cemetery.
